Dr. Barden Greenfield D.V.M
Practice Limited to Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery

Dr. Greenfield has been providing referral-only dental and oral surgery services to the Mid-South
veterinary community for over 4 years. He is in his fourth year of a non-conforming residency in
Small Animal Veterinary Dentistry.
Dr. Greenfield is a 1985 graduate of Mississippi State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, and was co-founder
of Southwind Animal Hospital in Memphis. Dr. Greenfield has pursued extensive oral surgery and veterinary dentistry
training since 2004. His training has taken him to the Animal Dental Center in Baltimore, MD and the Veterinary Dental
Education Center in Punta Gorda, FL. He has also spent hundreds of hours of hands-on training with numerous board-
certified veterinary dentists throughout the country.
Dr. Greenfield has extensive experience treating a wide range of dental diseases including: all phases of periodontal
disease, endodontics (“root canal therapy”), prosthodontics (“crown therapy”)—for the treatment of fractured and
non-vital teeth), and orthodontic therapy—for the treatment of canine and feline malocclusions.Dr. Greenfield is also
proficient in oral surgical techniques for complex extractions and diseases including oral tumors and fractures.
Dr. Greenfield has lectured throughout the country on various dental topics, and he is currently the Treasurer for the
American Veterinary Dental Society (AVDS). He has also been asked on several occasions to assist with exotic species
housed at the Memphis and Nashville Zoos.
Dr. Greenfield spends most of his spare time with his family but also enjoys hunting, playing golf, and promoting veterinary
dentistry both locally and nationally.
