Mac Maxwell, DVM
Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgeons
Dr. Mac Maxwell graduated in 2004 from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
After graduation, Dr. Maxwell finished a Small Animal Rotating Internship at Colorado State University.
Upon completion of the internship, he returned to Mississippi State University for a three-year
Surgical Residency, which he completed in 2008.
Dr. Maxwell remained at Mississippi State University as an Assistant Professor of Small Animal Surgery,
and is now a Diplomate of the American Colloge of Veterinary Surgeons. His research interests include
minimally invasive precutaneous osteosynthesis, locking plate biomechanics, and fracture healing.
Dr. Maxwell and his wife, Christy, both hail from Jackson, MS. They have two children ages 2 and 4. Mac
is an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman.
